What is Dysport?

Dysport is a type of botulinum toxin prescription injection that temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause facial wrinkles. It is used to treat moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and to smooth lines on the forehead and around the eyes. The result is a smoother, more youthful facial appearance.
How does Dysport work?
Dysport works by blocking the signal from the nerves to the muscles, reducing their movement and preventing the formation of wrinkles, which are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions. One injection into each of areas between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines.
What should I expect during a Dysport procedure?
A qualified physician or certified nurse injector will inject small amounts of Dysport into targeted facial muscles, typically around the forehead and eyebrows, to temporarily relax the muscles. The procedure usually takes only a few minutes, and most patients can resume normal activities immediately afterwards with minimal downtime.
What are the possible side effects of a Dysport treatment?
Side effects are rare and are usually mild and temporary. The most common side effects are swelling or redness at the injection site and a mild headache.
What results can I expect from a Dysport treatment?
Just one treatment may help improve the look of the frown lines between your eyebrows for up to four months. You can expect to see results from your treatment within 2 to 4 days, but it may take up to two weeks to see the full results.
